Research Paper 1 : The Impact of Technology on My Generation: What Our Research Found
My co-authors and I recently published a research paper, and I wanted to share a few key takeaways right here on the blog. Our study, “Use of Technology and its Impact on Children, Youth and Young Adults,” explores the complex relationship my generation—often called “Gen Tech”—has with the digital world.
Our research confirmed what many of us already feel: technology has completely reshaped how we learn, work, and connect. On the one hand, we found clear evidence of its positive influence. Tools like interactive learning apps and online platforms are making education more engaging than ever, and social media is fostering community in ways we’ve never seen before. Our study also showed how technology sparks creativity and opens up new avenues for collaboration.
However, we also took an honest look at the downsides. We found that the very same tools that connect us can also lead to increased social isolation and have a measurable impact on mental health. It’s a powerful reminder that while technology offers incredible benefits, its influence isn’t all positive.
Ultimately, our research emphasizes the need for a balanced approach. It’s not about rejecting technology, but about using it mindfully. We need to focus on digital literacy and media education to ensure that we’re leveraging technology for its benefits while actively working to mitigate its risks.
