Community Engagement
My community engagement has been driven by a commitment to supporting vulnerable groups across different generations and contributing to environmental sustainability. Through the Oracle Volunteer Program, I had the profound opportunity to support an NGO dedicated to the welfare of the elderly. This involved more than just the distribution of essential winter clothing; it was about offering companionship and warmth in the truest sense. Spending meaningful time with the residents, listening to their stories, and providing a compassionate presence underscored for me the critical importance of dignity and social connection for our senior community.
Complementing this work, I have also been passionately involved in addressing educational inequality. I dedicated my weekends to volunteering with an under-privileged school, coaching students at the Lotus Petal Foundation in Gurgaon. This role went beyond academic instruction; it was about mentoring and inspiring young minds to help build their confidence and unlock their potential. Furthermore, recognizing my responsibility towards the environment, I initiated and participated in a tree plantation drive within my community. This effort aimed to enhance local green cover and foster a collective spirit of environmental stewardship among residents, reflecting my belief in taking tangible action for a sustainable future.
Advait Kambam along with a few of his friends took up the initiative to coach students of Lotus Petal School, Gurgaon. The school is run by a non-profit organisation Lotus Petal Foundation with the primary objective to create equal opportunities for underprivileged children living in urban and semi-urban areas.
Over the course of 3 months Advait and his friends dedicated their weekends to tutoring and spending time with students in grades 6- 8 and helping them with their course curriculum in Mathematics and Science. The initiative involved hands-on learning experiences, using props and real-world examples to make the subjects more engaging. The entire engagement was facilitated by VitaNova Educators.
